Norman Virus Control 4.72
Norman Virus Control does a good job of defending your PC against viruses. It performed flawlessly on virus detection and managed to clean or delete all except those contained within zip files. Its Cat's Claw macro monitor catches any macro action and prevents you from opening infected files. If it can't disinfect a file, it will deny you access. Unfortunately, it's not always obvious what Cat's Claw has done with the file. Norman's alerts are also confusing at times, as they don't always offer an immediate solution. For example, once you've finished a scan and located a virus, you have to close the alert dialog box, select each infected file, and then you are given a course of action.Norman lets you save multiple configurations as styles, which is a handy shortcut, and you can use these styles when scheduling scans. It doesn't give you much control over selecting or excluding particular folders. The Smart Behaviour Blocker keeps tabs on any virus-like activity, enabling Norman to guard against unknown viruses. It's highly configurable and you can turn it off if it starts giving you too many false positives.
